DAFF.....(OH!)....DILS ?

Union Square, view from the fish stand, notice the snow on the left.....(April 16th!)
snippets from my front garden

Escaping the city for a few days,
to recover from a nasty cold that all of NYC has or had,
and be on the south shore of LI without the crowds,
my friend  Nina (click on her name to see her photographs) and I went to her place at the beach to paint, draw, walk and cook
Here are some results

East Hampton Morning 22 April 2014

RECIPE DU JOUR
Blue Moon's really fresh flounder

FISH TACOS
with
NINA'S TOMATILLO SAUCE

Lightly flour some flounder fillets
and sauté until done to your liking
In separate bowls:
shred some red cabbage
crumble some queso fresco
mash up some avocado with a bit of garlic and 1/2 a tomato
if you really must.....mince some cilantro (I hate it)

In water, boil the tomatillos for about 10 minutes
purée in a blender with
with 1/3 onion chopped finely
a bit of sugar
1 chopped serrano chili
some parsley and lime juice

heat up some fresh corn tortillas

layer in each tortilla: cabbage, fish, cheese, guacamole, and salsa
 happily eat

As a precursor to my next posting
and a shameless promotion of my custom hand painted ceramics,
if you are in need of a special present
here are a few samples
 commissions welcome!
