PUMPKIN


This year's crop of pumpkin paintings began when fish customer and Klara's owner commissioned a painting for her and her husband's twentieth wedding anniversary.
It's only fitting that they are pumpkin lovers, having gotten married on Halloween.....in costume

  Pumpkin  
S O U P E
from  
Catou's
   french   
kitchen
Chez Catou, Biarritz France
Place small cubes of peeled pumpkin in a thick bottomed pot
Let it cook in its own steam covered for three minutes
Add a teaspoon of sweet butter per cup of pumpkin, good coarse salt, pepper
and a touch of nutmeg ( optional)
Cook until totally soft
 whip in the blender until smooth and fluffy
Et voilĂ 
simple et délicieuse 



PUMPKIN
Stew 
at the 
FARM

Roast four small pie pumpkins until soft
peel and scoop out the flesh

saute three to four large shallots and garlic cloves in olive oil and butter
add two to three chopped red peppers, and one spicy anaheim
separately saute mildly spicy turkey sausage until brown
Add to the pumpkin mash
add a cup or so of water or chicken stock, salt and pepper to taste and simmer together
less simple and delicious!
Eat in front of a roaring fire
and listen to the crazy coyotes partying outside in the night
