WEATHER REPORT

In this town, I go to the beach to walk/run, hunt for sea glass, paint, and look for whales

Recipe
 to start the day:
1 empty beach at low tide
1 bad cup of coffee
rolling, crashing waves
sea glass by the bucketful
 a dash of pelicans, seagulls, and sand pipers
 fleeting glimpses of telltale fins
4+miles 
1 or 2 seaweed sketches
and
then  D'Angelo's
 for a croissant, some bacon and a decent café au lait

WEATHER
REPORT
(because everyone is sick of it) 
from
CALIFORNIA
with 
DOLPHINS
December 17th to January 1, 2014   The Recap   my domestic life
Can't scare up a rain drop
a bit too much high tide
not enough low tide
with lots of seaweed bouquets
miles and miles with Nico and Ray-Man
a paucity of sea glass 
but 
an abundance of sand and odors
night time visitors
WHO'S eating the dog food?
gophers and gopher holes
watering the weirdo plants 
and 
cooking spot prawns
with pasta and salad
un peu trop de 
DUOLINGO
VIVE LA FRANCE
et 
an addiction to 
House of Cards
persimmons...tangerines...pomegranates...limes 
and all those Xmas lights everywhere 
the warrior Gods are not impressed
nor is Buddha

RECIPE du JOUR



GRILLED WILD SPOT PRAWNS 
with 
AVOCADO SALAD

saute a lot of pressed garlic and shallots in olive oil, remove when soft
in the same pan grill the spot prawns for about a minute on each side, then remove
put the garlic/shallots back in, add about a cup of white wine and let simmer for a minute or two
add about 1/3 stick of butter
add back the prawns
let cook a few more minutes
serve over pasta 
sprinkle with fresh parsley leaves
eat with avocado and greens 
and a
glass of Refugio Ranch Viognier
