WEATHER REPORT
from
NYC
ICICLE COLD
and
FISHY

Blue Moon's season is almost over and here's my final fish chronicle of the year
a compilation from my hastily jotted notes and sketches
a flotsam and jetsam of outstanding moments, memorable sayings and quirky ideas that I didn't have time to paint
all courtesy of co-workers, customers, and the crazies who inhabit Union Square

It all starts at the fish stand
where
we are all just ourselves
and
the fish are themselves too
where
people bring us PASTRIES and COMPLAINTS
where
 we eat Betty's tamales
and
meet every fussy person in New York
where
Dino (yabba dabba doo)
NO
that's
D.E.A.N.O!
must have 4....
NO
10 lbs
of the LARGEST whole
SQUID....
where
Joe's vegan roomies release his clams back into the water
and
the Robin's Island oysters are briny
and can cause
RANDOM AMPUT ATIONS
where
the swimmer and the nun meet
and
a Rogues gallery of celebs stop by
where
the cult following of the MIGHTY SEA ROBIN
does exist
and the skinny wannabes don't like our fishy water
or
 US

Flotsam
fish for the final weeks
 Boston Mackerel
 Gigundo Squid

If you're lucky we'll still have BAY SCALLOPS (on the right)

too bad though, TUNA is on it's way out

Winter isn't coming, it's here and so is the Herring

2 Dozen Robin's Island Oysters
1 very good oyster knife
1 oven mitt
1 bottle of champagne

shuck and eat them raw with a glass of bubbly

They're local, they're wild, just watch the fingers

See you round the fish stand.....
